Ice Cream, Cake 'n Cake

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
*cough* Now then, with that aside, let's get down to business (To defeat, The Hunnns! Why did they se- sorry). As you've probably guessed, it's my mom's birthday. As a part of my present, I've decided to make her a cake. But this cake is not a rectangle, boring old cake. Not that I have anything against normal cakes, but it's nice to mix it up, yeah? And I don't mean a circle cake. I'm making a giant cupcake. Like the kinds you see on TV. I know, TV infomercials on the giant cupcake pans that never work and all that. But these actually are pretty cool, and I'd suggest them to any cake-maker who is tired of regular old cakes.
So I decided to make one of these for my mom. A chocolate cake mix (I know, a box, it's lame. I don't make muffins from mixes, so I tell myself that's ok.) with rocky road ice cream filling, with white icing with chocolate fudge drizzle. If that didn't get you drooling, I'm not sure what will.
I made the mix, and that turned out well. It's kinda hard to screw up a mix. (No offence to anybody who does screw up mixes.) So I poured the mix into the red silicone molds, and I put the insert which leaves a hollow hole into the base. That turned out well. I put them into the 325 degree oven, and I set the timer to 30 minutes. With TV magic, I'll just skip to what happened next. They weren't done. At all. They looked done on the top, but the middle said differently. So we set it for another 15 minutes. That did it. They were perfect, so we let them sit. Flipping them out easily, they sat on our orange plate. Here it is in its unfinished state:
We're going to go out to the store and grab lunch, while the cake is in the freezer. When we're back, I'll ice it and then put the ice cream in the hollow. Or vise-versa. I just think it'd be easier that way :P I'll post the finished picture when... er... it's finished. But I shold probably go get ready to go now, so I'll be off!

**UPDATE UPDATE**
I know I said I'd do a bi-weekly last week. Heh heh. Oops :P We decided to go down to Nashville on Saturday and I forgot on Friday. So I'll try to get something this week. As the link says, cross our fingers!
